How to: Ribbon Dispenser!

9 Mar

I’ve always struggled with organising ribbons!! I have 3 messy boxes full of ribbons! I thought it was high time I organised them! I came across a few really cool ideas to organise them, they are really easy and quick methods!

This first method is really easy to make all you need is a cardboard box, dowels and a scissor to make holes for the dowels and craft paper to decorate your ribbon dispenser! ūüôā

The second type was from a tutorial i found, its by Martha Stewart! Yep that why its so cool!

Begin with a sturdy cardboard container (we used a store-bought CD storage box). With a utility knife, make a 1/4-inch hole in the center of both short sides. Place ribbon spools in box. Cut a 1/4-inch-thick dowel to length of box, and slide through box and spools; press wide thumbtacks into dowel ends. Cut slits for ribbon, and pull ribbon ends through. For a polished look, attach grommets using a grommet kit (available at hardware stores), and label side of box.

How to : Embellished Collars!

5 Mar

These days there are a lot of shirts with Embellished collars on them! So I thought why not make our own ones which are cheap and easy to make!

This is what you will need:

  1. A shirt
  2. Embellishments like buttons, fabric sticker, laces whatever you want to decorate your collar.
  3. Fabric glue
  4. Needle and thread

Decide what you want your collar to look like and then start either gluing the buttons to the shirt or if you like pearls you can start stitching them up!

Here are a few ideas you can work with! Its very very easy! Remember incase you are using glue to stick the embellishments, give it enough time to dry before you wear the shirt!

How to: Sparkly Rustic Tray!

25 Feb

Don’t know what to do with an old tray? Here’s an idea!

it’s sleek and modern, but plain enough so that you can customize it with just a couple of simple steps! I decided to make mine feel a bit more festive with some glitter tape (the width matches the tray perfectly) that I ran along the edge and twine that I wrapped around the handles to offset the sparkles. I love how it came out, but am perhaps even just as excited about the fact that if I want a holiday-inspired tray in a couple of months that I can easily re-do the entire thing.

Things you will need are:

  1. A tray
  2. Glitter tape (any colour you like)
  3. Twine rope
  4. Scissors

Incase your edge of your tray isnt the perfect size for the tape dont worry! you can overlap it …. trust me it wont show! This project wont take m=you more than an hour!

How to: Paint your own T-shirt!

21 Feb

Hi guys!

Ive always wanted to paint on a tshirt and with my friends birthday right around the corner I though why not paint one for him?! So after going through alot of different techniques this one was by far the easiest and quickest!

I didnt need alot of things to start and it took me an hour to finish the whole thing and trust me when i say this I CANNOT paint!!! So you can try this too!!

Here’s what you will need:

  1. A T-shirt  Рyou can choose what type n colour but keep in mind that if you are painting for the first time you use a cotton Tshirt so that you can paint easily.
  2. Fabric colours. You can use any colours you like!  The only thing you have to keep in mind is the consistency of the paint. Dont add too much water it will become runny and spread.
  3. ¬†A cardboard or ¬†shoe box –¬†Check the size of the picture you want to paint and choose a box accordingly.
  4. Paint brushes
  5. A Picture you would like to paint.

How to : Paint a Tshirt!

Step by Step Instructions:

  1. Select a Tshirt you want to paint on.
  2. Get a big cardboard box or a shoe box to use for support. I used my the box i got my laptop in.
  3. Select a picture you want to paint on the picture. I chose this really cute scared and confused mouse. You can choose any  picture you like.
  4. Use sticky tape to attach the picture on the box. I printed the picture out on an A3 size paper so that it was big enough for the tshirt.
  5. Next, slip the tshirt over box so that you can see the picture  on the front side. So you are basically going to trace the picture on the tshirt.
  6. Use the colours you like and start painting.
  7. IMPORTANT :¬†Don’t forget to reverse the tshirt after 24hrs and iron it. This will make sure that the fabric colours stick to the cloth and dont run when you wash it.

This method is super easy! Please try and send me pictures of how your tshirts turned out!

P.S. – You can try this same technique to paint on thin cotton bags!

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
